Virgil Hartinger

Virgil Hartinger was born in Salzburg and studied at Mozarteum as well as at the Eastman School of Music in New York. His singing was described by the press as "both stylish and full of expression". His repertoire includes pieces from different eras and styles ranging from the part of Evangelist in the works of Bach, the oratorios of Handel, Baroque operas by Mozart, Haydn and Gluck, the oratorio "Christ on the Mount of Olives" by Beethoven, Schubert and Wolf, to the belcanto repertoire (Verdi's Requiem) Verena's Messa di Gloria, Pinkerton's Madame Butterfly, or Midsummer Night's Dream by Britten.

He had the privilege of collaborating with many prominent ensembles such as MDR Orchester Leipzig, Musica Antiqua Köln, Cologne Radio Orchestra Cologne, Kreuzchor, Cologne Chamber Choir, Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble, Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, Göttingen Festival Orchestra, Cologne Chamber Orchestra, L'Orfeo Baroque Camerata Salzburg, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Mozarteum orchestra, the czyOrkiestra Gewandhaus in Leipzig, under the baton of such conductors as Roy Goodman, Helmut Müller-Brühl, Peter Neumann, Paul O'Dette, Sigiswald Kuijken, Reinhard Goebel, Michi Gaigg, Sophie Kreile, Konrad Junghänel, Christophe Coin, Ton Koopman, Nicholas McGegan, Riccardo Chailly, Ivor Bolton and Thomas Hengelbrock.

In the coming artistic season, the most important events with his participation are the title role in Monteverdi's "L'Orfeo" in Toulouse and Freiburg, "Beautiful miller", during the Danube Festival, Mass in B minor, performed during the tour with the L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra production of Zelenka's motets conducted by Adam Viktory and Christmas Oratory under the direction of Jrosław Thiel in the Wiener Musikverein.
